The population was 4,107 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Washington CountyGR6. Plymouth is located in North Carolina's Inner Banks regions. , affecting 200 hourly and salaried positions. * In response to fundamental market challenges, Weyerhaeuser has recently announced the indefinite closure of a pulp and paper facility in Saskatchewan, a box finishing operation in California, a sawmill sawmill, installation or facility in which cut logs are sawed into standard-sized boards and timbers.
