How have the storms affected you?

The rain definitely makes life more complicated in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , especially in traffic because people drive a lot slower and it backs everything up. You really have to plan where you're going to go and where you're going to park. I've not gone to some networking events because of the rain. And, it's all anyone's talking about. It's the topic of conversation around the water cooler.

Obviously, it's not good for developers and it's possibly slowed down some who aren't used to rain on the West Coast. Personally, it's affected me during the real downpours because it takes longer to go to appointments and meetings and you have to add an extra 20 or 30 minutes.

It's just a hassle, with leaks in the roof and road closures. That's not why I moved from England to Los Angeles. I moved for the sun, not for this weather. I live pretty close to work, up in the canyons north of Sunset, but it makes a seven-mile commute take over an hour.

clothing is something we sell a lot of. We're known for protecting people from the environment, so our sales go way up in this weather. Plus, we have a group of people working here who like to go outdoors and like nasty weather. It's just the challenge. We actually had a guy who tried to climb Mount San Jacinto Mount San Jacinto may refer to

and the weather got so bad he had to turn back. He had to take different trail down. The search and rescue team picked him up.

There are lots of good pictures out here in the city right now. At any time, there are between nine and 12 houses ready to fall down a hill. That's good for my business. In Malibu, today's star is a million-pound boulder that fell on the Pacific Coast Highway Pacific Coast Highway may refer to:

at Big Rock. Even though we live in a desert, L.A. looks a lot like Ireland now, and I like that.

Miserably! It makes it tough for everybody. People don't want to come out. They stay home and they make as few trips as possible. Any car repairs they need that aren't emergencies they hold off on.

Union Rescue Mission The Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a private, Christian, homeless shelter in downtown Los Angeles's skid row. It is the largest, private, homeless shelter in the United States.

It really affected us because our donations of food, clothing and everything went down quite a bit. Also when we do have donations to pick up, the Johnson rain traffic doubles our pick-up times. We run into overtime, which eats away at budgets. A lot of times we have to put off pickups of donations because we can't get to them. I live in Pasadena, and the thunder was so incredibly loud it kept my kids up all night. I've got four kids, 8 and younger.
