Westminster chosen by a jury of its peers.

Twelve Westminster Management rental communities in New Jersey, along with eight property managers, received a total of 22 awards from the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia and the New Jersey Apartment Association, announced Stewart Epstein, chief operating officer of Westminster.

Selected by professionals from the multi-family housing industry, the annual awards recognize the outstanding achievements of regional property owners and managers. Both associations are nonprofit groups representing multi-family developers, owners and managers for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing quality rental housing.

The award-winning Westminster communities varied in size from smaller, singlebuilding properties such as the 52-unit Sussex House in Cherry Hill, which received an AAGP award for excellence in curb appeal, to expansive garden apartment complexes like the 368-unit Inverness in Westville, which was honored for overall excellence. Several years ago, Westminster Management completed extensive renovations at Inverness, enclosing the property's breezeways and hallways, as well as the building's basements and laundry rooms. The centerpiece of that work was a new clubhouse and state-of-the-art fitness center, which backs up to a swimming pool and tennis courts.

With the exception of Inverness, which is situated in a well-established community of Gloucester county, the award-winning properties and personnel are located in Burlington and Camden counties. Burlington county leasing consultants Kim Russo, of Woodlane Crossing, and Kathy Ferozzi and Tracy Shawn, of Woodview at Marlton, all received recognition for excellence in their field. In addition, Shawn was named Leasing Consultant of the Year by the NJAA. Woodview at Marlton also won the NJAA Award for Best New Construction Built 2000-2003, as well as the AAGP Award for Overall Community Excellence. The constant activity there puts AAGP award-winning maintenance supervisor William Ward to the test. Two other mid-sized Burlington county properties--Lumberton in Mt. Holly and Eastampton Apartments--earned AAGP Awards for Overall Community Excellence.

Camden county winners included the 332-unit Fairways in Blackwood, the 255unit Chateau Ridge in Pine Hill and the 70unit Warwick Terrace in Somerdale--all recognized for excellence in curb appeal by the AAGP. Singled out by the AAGP for overall community excellence in Camden county were the 286-unit Hyde Park in Bellmawr, the 240-unit Crescent Gardens in Camden and the mid-rise apartment building The Colonials in Cherry Hill. Tory Estates in Clementon, managed by Angie Beiner, was named Best Property with 1-149 units by the NJAA. Amy Milone, of The Willows in Barrington, was named Property Manager of the Year and Harriet Tonelli, of Hyde Park, was named Most Supportive On-site Member. Angela B arger, of the Pines at Arborwood in Lindenwold, received an AAGP award for leasing excellence.
