 Trustee and Citizen-Board Member Past President Margaret Young Margaret Young (1900 - 3 May, 1969) was a popular singer in the United States in the 1920s.

Margaret Young began her professional career in Detroit, Michigan. She sang at theaters, dinner clubs, and on Vaudeville.
. Aside from her good work for parks and recreation, she's also quite a volleyball player--Young placed first in the 55-59 age group in volleyball at the 2002 Lubbock Texas Senior Games.

Jim Colley, who passed away in March, contributed an enormous body of work to promote parks and recreation, and now you can continue his legacy by contributing financially to the James Colley James Colley is an American singer-songwriter whose music can be described as part rock and part classic country. Raised in Bakersfield, California, Colley found his musical inspiration in the works of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones and  Endowed Scholarship Fund. Colley's passion for high-quality parks programs and the best educated professionals continues through this fund. To support it, e-mail kimberly.brooks @asu.edu. All tax-deductible donations will be deposited with the ASU Foundation, a separate nonprofit 501(c)(3) that supports all of ASU's campuses.

NRPA policy staff recently developed briefing materials on Land and Water Conservation Fund The United States' Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) is a Federal program that was established by Act of Congress in 1965. The Act designated that a portion of receipts from offshore oil and gas leases[1]  and urban park grants for City of Laredo, Texas officials meeting in Washington, D.C. Laredo officials briefed by NRPA included Mayor Betty Flores Elizabeth Garcia Flores, better known as Betty Flores (born December 28, 1944), is a businesswoman who was the first female mayor of Laredo, Texas. She served a brief unexpired mayoral term followed by two four-year terms from 1998-2006. , council member Hector Garcia and parks and recreation director Horacio de Leon, Jr. Sixty-five city representatives had three days of meetings with the Texas congressional delegation and other federal program officials.
