This month, the Western States Tourism Policy Council, along with 11 federal agencies, the National Association of Counties and the National Alliance of Gateway Communities, hosted the Gateway Community Partnerships for Tourism and Conservation Conference. The conference, held in Bernalillo, N.M., featured Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton Gale Ann Norton (born March 11, 1954) served as the 48th United States Secretary of the Interior from 2001 to 2006 under President George W. Bush. She was the first woman to hold the position. as keynote speaker.
