Westerbeke Corporation Announces Date for Special Meeting.

TAUNTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2004

Westerbeke Corporation (the "Corporation") (Nasdaq: WTBK) announced today that a special meeting of stockholders of the Corporation will be held on February 5, 2004, to vote on the proposal to adopt the previously announced Agreement and Plan of Merger, as amended, between the Corporation and Westerbeke Acquisition Corporation. The close of business on December 17, 2003, has been established by the board of directors of the Corporation as the record date for the determination of the stockholders of the Corporation entitled to notice of, and to vote at, the special meeting. The special meeting of stockholders of the Corporation will be held at 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) on February 5, 2004, at the Holiday Inn, 700 Myles Standish Boulevard, Taunton, Massachusetts Taunton is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the seat of Bristol County and the hub of the Greater Taunton Area. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,976.
