(messaging) MTA - Message Transfer Agent. is growing with ideas, rejuvenated collegiate chapters, innovative state conferences, a new design of NOTES (print publication), investigation of funding strategies, and an expanded website (wvvw.missourimta.org). Several Missouri MTA members have recently received honors. Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning. Zupan, former Missouri president and MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) president, was named an MTNA FOUNDATION Fellow; John Ernst was winner of the MTNA Young Artist Composition Competition; and Mukai Kohei received Honorable Mention as the state's Commissioned Composer. In 2005, Missouri's Commissioned Composer, Stefan Freund, was named MTNA-Shepherd Distinguished Composer of the Year. Kansas MTA held its state conference September 22 and 23, on the Washburn University campus in Topeka. The conference featured Reid Alexander, along with a student winners recital and a commissioned work for flute and piano by Julie Rivers. KMTA's Fall Honors Auditions were held in Lawrence on the campus of the University of Kansas The University of Kansas (often referred to as KU or just Kansas) is an institution of higher learning in Lawrence, Kansas. The main campus resides atop Mount Oread. on November 11 and 12. KMTA's non-competitive Music Progressions program was completely revised and will be put into use in January. Presidents of states within the West Central division who met at the Summit for MTNA Leadership in Cincinnati in September voted to postpone plans for a WCD dinner until the 2008 MTNA Conference in Denver.
