West Central Division.


The National Summit for MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association
MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) 
 Leadership provided an opportunity for state presidents of the West Central Division to meet and share successes and concerns of their respective states.

Plans are progressing for MTNA competitions to be held at the University of Kansas The University of Kansas (often referred to as KU or just Kansas) is an institution of higher learning in Lawrence, Kansas. The main campus resides atop Mount Oread.  in Lawrence, January 14-16. Specifics will be found in the competitions section of this issue of AMT See vPro. .

Missouri MTA will hold a mini-conference November 6 at Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph. State performance competitions, held concurrently, will offer "clinics" for student instrumentalists who are awaiting competition results.

The October conference of the Nebraska MTA will feature Martha Hilley, NCTM NCTM National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
NCTM Nationally Certified Teacher of Music
NCTM North Carolina Transportation Museum
NCTM National Capital Trolley Museum
NCTM Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage
, presenting sessions on motivation and improvisation. Renowned organist Diane Bish will be the conference headliner

Congratulations to North Dakota MTA for placing second in the 2004 State Incentive Giving Campaign in the category of Highest Percentage of Members Contributing. Frank Pearson, NCTM, recently became an MTNA FOUNDATION Fellow when members of the North Dakota MTA raised more than $1,000 in his honor.

South Dakota will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary conference at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, November 4-7. The guest artist recital will be presented by former South Dakota student and pianist, Angelina Gadeliya.
