Werhane claimed an automatic individual qualifying berth with his 13th-place finish at the NCAA West Regionals at the Stanford Golf Course this past Saturday. Werhane covered the 10,000-meter course in 30 minutes, 31 seconds.

Stanford and Arizona earned automatic NCAA team bids, while Arizona State, Portland and Washington received at-large invitations.

On the women's side, the 21st-ranked Duck women did not receive an at-large invitation after placing fourth at the West regional.

Stanford and Arizona State were given automatic berths.

Two preps sign letters

UO's Schiller advances

at Honolulu tournament

HONOLULU - Oregon's Markus Schiller qualified for Wednesday's main draw at the Honolulu Futures tennis tournament with a third-round qualifying victory.

Schiller defeated Bijan Hijazi 6-3, 7-6, 7-4 on Monday. He will team with former Duck Sven Swinnen in doubles play today.
