The new building manifests a mind/body dialogue, with a library for cerebral contemplation Contemplation Compleat Angler, The Izaak Walton’s classic treatise on the Contemplative Man’s Recreation. [Br. Lit.: The Compleat Angler] Thinker, The sculpture by Rodin, depicting contemplative man. and an associated community centre, park and pool for physical recreation. Two equally scaled volumes incorporate the library collection and a sports hall. Each is a clear span, column-free space, top- and bottom-lit to admit a generous amount of daylight.
