Customers are not charged fees for using the service and 100 percent of the donation is sent to the nonprofit. Customers also can make donations via the American Red Cross website at www.redcross.org or to the United Way of Texas Gulf Coast via www.unitedwayhouston.org.

"Like so many others, we are reaching out to help our Texas neighbors, friends, families and customers who have been affected by the recent hurricane," said Chip Carlisle, Wells Fargo regional president for Texas. "We intend to work with each of our customers on an individual basis because we know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. We want to help our customers satisfy all of their financial needs, especially at this time when they may be facing a difficult recovery from the hurricane."

Wells Fargo customers impacted by Hurricane Ike are encouraged to contact their banker and to visit their nearest Wells Fargo store to discuss financial options. Wells Fargo has re-opened 88 of its 140 banking stores in the Greater Houston Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown is a 10-county metropolitan area defined by the Office of Management and Budget. It is located along the Gulf Coast region in the U.S. state of Texas.  area today that were temporarily closed as a result of Hurricane Ike and is preparing to re-open all other banking stores in the next week.

Wells Fargo team members will work one-on-one with its consumer and business customers to explore case-by-case assistance. Customers also may contact Wells Fargo 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557). Wells Fargo is working to help affected customers manage through the recovery process.

Small Business

Several programs and services are available for qualified business customers including Credit Protection activation, emergency credit line increases, bridge and term loans, loan payment deferrals, skip-a-payments, fee waivers and case-by-case assistance.

Wells Fargo Home Mortgage

Affected customers with existing home mortgages should call to inquire about payment options available to eligible customers.

Wells Fargo Home Equity

Affected customers with existing home equity lines/loans should call to inquire about options available to qualified customers subject to Texas Home Equity laws.

Personal Credit Management

Affected customers with existing home mortgages or other loans or lines through Wells Fargo Financial or auto loans through Wells Fargo Auto Finance should call Wells Fargo to explore case-by-case assistance.
