Wellman to purchase PET bottle recycler.

Wellman, Shrewsbury, NJ, has entered into an agreement to purchase the PET bottle recycling operation of Day Products, a subsidiary of the engineering firm of Day & Zimmerman, Philadelphia, PA. The terms of the agreement were not released. Currently, Day Products' PET bottle recycling facility, located in Bridgeport, NJ, can handle approximately 50 million pounds per year of post consumer PET bottles. The bottles are processed into PET flake and pellets that are sold to end product manufacturers. Wellman will operate the facility as Day Products, a division of Wellman.
