Welders upgrade in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay's Confederation College has struck an agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) to re-train their track welders.

The college will assist the rail carrier in supporting continuous improvement in track standards by offering a refresher workshop.

Track welders are now required to perform assignments to reinforce their skills on a regular basis. CP employees will perform these assignments during the eyes of college faculty using specialized equipment provided by the railway.

The initial week of training began during the first week of October.
