In this issue of Rehab Perspectives, we explore how 21st-century technology can help a nursing home address some of these less commonly considered but no less important areas of risk. We are fortunate to live in a world in which technology can streamline systems, increase accuracy, and aggregate pertinent data into a useful array of reports.

We begin with good clinical documentation, the foundation of quality resident care and the basis for which services are paid. We move on to trace how technology facilitates the flow of information from the resident's admission through treatment to billing to discharge. Even tracking denials and appeals is made simple with systems that can pinpoint triggers and trends. With technology we are able to simultaneously educate therapists across the country, standardizing care and bringing therapists up to speed in terms of the regulatory environment. All of these initiatives reduce risk for the facility.

Come with us as we explore how your nursing home can address areas of risk through good documentation and technology and provide better therapy for your residents. Aegis is your rehab resource.
