Weiss forms new brokerage firm.


Jaime M. Weiss has announced the formation of his new real estate brokerage and development company with headquarters at 1050 Wall Street West, Lyndhurst, New Jersey Lyndhurst is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township population was 19,383.

Lyndhurst was originally formed as Union Township on February 19, 1852 from portions of Harrison Township.

Weiss, formerly president of Newmark of New Jersey, has merged that company into his new firm Jaime M. Weiss Realty Co., Inc., an independent brokerage specializing in office and industrial leasing and sales, investment properties, development, consulting and property management whose current ownership and management portfolio comprises over 1 million square feet of office, industrial and retail properties.

Jaime M. Weiss formed Newmark of New Jersey, Inc. in 1987 and served as its president and founder. Prior to his affiliation with Newmark, Jaime spent four years with Cushman & Wakefield's Lyndhurst, New Jersey office as vice president and, in 1986, he was the leading producer in the nation for C&W's industrial brokerage operation when he consummated in excess of $40 million in transactions for the firm.

Weiss began his real estate career as an industrial sales trainee in 1967 at Cross & Brown Company in New York. In 1978, when he left Cross & Brown, Weiss had negotiated leases valued in excess of $150 million and consummated property sales valued at $210 million.

Jaime Weiss' career included a two-year stint as vice president at the Edward S. Gordon Company from 1978 to 1980. In 1980, he formed the Jaime M. Weiss Realty Company in East Rutherford, New Jersey East Rutherford is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 8,716.

By an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 17, 1889, a portion of the old Union Township was incorporated under the name of

Among the most recent major industrial transactions in which Jaime Weiss has been involved have included a 500,000 square foot warehouse and distribution center on behalf of Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, a 180,000 square foot office/distribution center on behalf of Barneys New York in Lyndhurst and a 140,000 square foot distribution center and 40,000 square foot office lease on behalf of Escada Inc. in Hasbrouck Heights. The total aggregate rental of these transactions exceeded $45 million. Moreover, Weiss brokered two of the largest industrial transactions ever consummated including the 1.1 million square foot industrial Art Metal facility sale in Newark and the 1.6 million square foot Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. sale in Memphis, Tennessee.

During the span of his 25 year real estate career, Weiss has also represented numerous commercial office tenants including AMF in relocating its headquarters from New York City to White Plains, New York For other places with the same name, see White Plains (disambiguation).

The Weiss Firm is currently exclusive agent for the 63,000 square foot Sumitomo Machinery Corp. headquarters facility on 7.5 acres located at Seven Malcolm Avenue, Teterboro; two East Orange office buildings comprising 270,000 square foot located at 30 Evergreen and 50 South Clinton Street respectively; Colonial Village, a 70,000 square foot retail and professional office complex on Route 27 in Edison; and The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York's operations center, a one-story, 136,000 square foot facility located at Two Corporate Place South, Piscataway.
