Capstone Turbine Corporation, incorporated in 1988, develops, manufactures and markets microturbine technology for use in stationary distributed power generation applications, including combined heat and power, resource recovery and power quality and reliability, as well as hybrid electric vehicles A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a vehicle which combines a conventional propulsion system with an on-board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) to achieve better fuel economy than a conventional vehicle without being hampered by range from a charging unit like an . Capstone's microturbines provide power at the site of consumption and to hybrid electric vehicles that combine a primary source battery with an auxiliary power source, such as a microturbine, to enhance performance. The company has applied its technology to such hybrid electric vehicles as buses, industrial use and other vehicles. Capstone microturbines are compact, environmentally friendly Environmentally friendly, also referred to as nature friendly, is a term used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.[1]  generators of electricity and heat.
