Business Overview
Edison International, incorporated on April 20, 1987, is a
holding company that operates through three business segments:
an electric utility segment (Southern California Edison Company (SCE)),
a non-utility power generation segment (Edison Mission Energy (EME))
and a financial services provider segment (Edison Capital). SCE,
incorporated in 1909, is a public utility primarily engaged in the
business of supplying electric energy to a 50,000-square-mile area of
central, coastal and southern California, excluding the City of Los
Angeles and certain other cities. EME is an independent power producer
engaged in the business of owning or leasing and operating electric
power generation facilities worldwide. EME also conducts price risk
management and energy trading activities in power markets open to
competition. Edison Capital, incorporated in 1987, has investments
worldwide in energy and infrastructure projects.
