Business Overview

OSI Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems to end users under the Rapiscan. Secure, Ancore and Metor brand names. These products are used to inspect people, baggage, cargo, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. These systems are also used for the safe, accurate and efficient verification of cargo manifests for the purpose of assessing duties and monitoring the export and import of controlled materials. The company also provides optoelectronic devices and value-added subsystems that are used in a range of applications, including aerospace and defense electronics, security and inspection systems, medical diagnostics, fiber optics fiber optics, transmission of digitized messages or information by light pulses along hair-thin glass fibers. Each fiber is surrounded by a cladding having a high index of refractance so that the light is internally reflected and travels the length of the fiber , telecommunications, gaming, office automation computer peripherals and industrial automation, n the medical field, OSI (1) (Open System Interconnection) An ISO standard for worldwide communications that defines a framework for implementing protocols in seven layers. Control is passed from one layer to the next, starting at the application layer in one station, proceeding to the  designs, manufactures and markets bone densitometers, which are used to provide bone density measurements in the diagnosis of osteoporosis, and to provide an early-stage detection of potential development of osteoporosis.
