Wedge Technology, Inc. today announced the ShowBIZ 9000P, a Pentium II-powered presentation notebook PC that features a video display that converts to a projection panel, which can display any image or application running on the system up to six feet when it is used with an overhead projector.

The ShowBIZ also features a proprietary cable that allows users to bridge video or images stored on other notebook PCs as well as digital projection systems. The ShowBIZ 9000P is a true presentation notebook solution that lightens the load of any mobile professional. Its 14.1-inch XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  TFT (Thin Film Transistor) The term typically refers to active matrix screens on laptop computers. Active matrix LCD provides a sharper screen display and broader viewing angle than does passive matrix. See LCD and thin film.

Any image, application or video running on the ShowBIZ 9000P can be projected up to 6 feet high -- eliminating the need for a separate projection system when the system is used with an overhead projector.

In addition Wedge Technology has designed a proprietary cable that works with any notebook PC or digital projector, which allows users to bridge both video/audio signals -- and any applications running on these systems -- in order to project them on a large screen with the ShowBIZ 9000P.

The ShowBIZ 9000P is sold direct and through resellers, distributors and VARs. Target customers are mobile users, educators, lecturers, field sales force teams, and convention/meeting organizers.

"The ShowBIZ 9000P eliminates the need for a far more expensive digital projection system, and provides much more flexible solution. Our convertible video display panel allows any application or video/audio stream that is running on the PC to be projected on a wall screen when used with an overhead projector," said Wedge Technology director of sales & marketing Johnny Shao.

The ShowBIZ 9000P base system has a list price of $3,495. It ships with Intel's 300MHz Pentium II Mobile Module CPU CPU
