Wedge, cut, slice, point.
Armada's personal weapons editor has followed the growth and
eventual acquisition (by Blackhawk Products Group) of Masters Of Defense
knives for quite some time. It seems that every year another surprising
and combat-worthy innovation in assault blades is created by MOD; but
one of the newest designs is in the form of a very unorthodox blade/
point combination. The Beshara XSF-1 combat dagger (pronounced
ex-ces-sive) was designed by former Canadian special operations soldier
Brent Beshara and features a unique triple-edged point (left) that
offers the supreme combination of edge geometry and tip strength. The
blade's chisel-ground cutting edges taper to form a third edge at
the point, thereby eliminating the tip weakness found on traditional
daggers. During controlled piercing tests the XSF-1 exceeded all other
regular pointed daggers by a large margin. The 16-centimetre blade
(overall length: 29.5 cm) is available in either high-carbon tool steel
or 4V titanium and features a coarse G-10 handle for a secure grip.
