Physicians will not be alone in their efforts to ensure that patients receive quality health information on the Internet.

Hi-Ethics, Inc., has announced that its members will rely on URAC's Health Web Site Accreditation accreditation,
n a process of formal recognition of a school or institution attesting to the required ability and performance in an area of education, training, or practice.

, a leading private, non-profit accreditation organization, is in the final stages of developing and testing its accreditation standards for health websites.

Implementation of the program will begin in August, with the first accreditations announced before the end of the year. URAC plans to work with TRUSTe, a leader in the certification of websites' privacy practices, to implement the program.
