WebTrends Releases Server Cluster Reporting Solution for High-Traffic Web Sites; Patent-pending ClusterTrends(tm) Technology is Now Available as Add-on To WebTrends Enterprise Suite.

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--WebTrends Corporation, the leader and pioneer in enterprise management of Internet/Intranet servers and firewalls, today released the WebTrends Server Cluster Add-On for the WebTrends Enterprise Suite, the only product on the market specially designed to report on visitor's traffic and performance of high-end web sites running on a server cluster.

The Server Cluster Add-On enhances the WebTrends Enterprise Suite by adding to it the patent-pending ClusterTrends(tm) technology that assures accurate site traffic reporting A traffic report is an element of a radio program or TV news broadcast that informs listeners about general traffic conditions, locations and severity of traffic accidents, road construction detours/slowdowns, etc., on roadways within the broadcast area.  and technical performance analysis across clusters of 2 to 100 web servers.

"The WebTrends Enterprise Suite now provides the fastest, most accurate reporting of visitors traffic across a web site operated by a server cluster, as well as performance analysis and troubleshooting reports of each individual server in the cluster," said Eli Shapira, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of WebTrends Corporation. "Most web traffic analysis solutions do not support server clusters and return inaccurate data when analyzing sites running on a cluster of servers. We developed unique technology for capturing this data and added cluster reports that are critical for both marketing managers and administrators operating these sites."

WebTrends Server Cluster Add-On

The WebTrends Server Cluster Add-On extends the capacity of the WebTrends Enterprise Suite, taking advantage of the full feature set, including real-time reporting, Scheduler, Filters, and much more. WebTrends Server Cluster Add-On simultaneously analyzes multiple log files created by web server clusters, automatically consolidating the data to provide accurate and unique reports using the ClusterTrends technology. New report tables and graphs provide information specific to server clusters, such as:

-- Geographic Origin of Visitors, by Server, showing how well a

redirector distributes requests to servers that are installed in

different geographic locations

-- Bandwidth (in MB) by Server, showing how well the load is

balanced across the servers

-- Pages Not Found, per Server, helping insure that mirroring

software is accurate

The WebTrends Enterprise Suite with the WebTrends Server Cluster Add-On can be installed on any Windows NT system. The minimum system requirements for a server cluster with 10 servers are a 200Mhz Pentium with 8 gigabytes disk drive and 256 MB of memory.
