Web vs. TV.

More and more advertising dollars are being spent on Internet sites, raising questions about the Web's impact on the $60-billion-a-year television industry. When people come home from work these days, they may want to sit down and relax in front of "American Idol American Idol is an annual American televised singing competition, which began its first season on June 11, 2002. Part of the Idol franchise, it originated from the British reality program Pop Idol. "--or they may go online to plan their vacation or shop for books. So the Business Journal asks:

Do you spend more time watching TV or surfing the Web?

Television. The Internet for me ends up being work-related stuff, except for planning my daughter's fourth birthday party, which I'm doing right now. I am looking for Looking for

The million-dollar answer is TV, because I love to watch commercials. There are a lot of great commercials on the air right now. I like the most creative ones with good sound and cinematography cinematography: see motion picture photography.

. I am sound driven. Television is just a better medium for sound quality. It has progressed with better sound systems so you get the full theater effect. Commercials tend to be like little movies or little features so I would rather watch them on a big screen with good sound because that's an experience.

Right now, I spend about an equal amount of time with each. Because I'm a designer of home theaters An audio/video entertainment center that has a large-screen TV and hi-fi system with three speakers in the front (left, right and center) and left and right speakers in the rear. Starting in the early 1990s, video inputs were added to stereo receivers and preamplifiers.  I'm always working on my computer, probably more than I should be. I have a flat screen in my home office so I've been following the NBA playoffs The NBA Playoffs is a four-round best-of-seven elimination tournament between sixteen teams in the Eastern Conference and Western Conferences (called Divisions, pre-1970) of the National Basketball Association, ultimately determining the league champion.  and working on the Internet simultaneously. The team winning the Eastern Conference Finals earns one of the two berths in the championship round, with the other going to the team that wins the Western Conference Finals.
are over, I will definitely be spending more time on the Internet. I still think that people are watching TV more. A lot of people are at their computer all day at work. They don't want to go anywhere near the computer when they get home. That's what I'm finding in my industry. People are building home theaters so they don't have to go out to the theater. They have plasmas all over their homes.

Internet. I use the Internet for research. I do adventure photography. I've traveled to over 148 countries and I have both underwater and above-water capabilities. I use the Internet to find unique research locations. You can connect to the Interact just about anywhere. When I was in the Himalayas at 18,000 feet there was an Internet connection there in a little village, believe it or not.

Right now the Internet wins but at the rate I'm going that may change. I recently became engaged to a man who follows certain TV shows religiously like "Deadwood Deadwood, city (1990 pop. 1,830), seat of Lawrence co., W S.Dak.; settled 1876 after discovery of gold. A Black Hills tourist center, it is also a trade hub for a lumbering, stock-raising, and mining region. ," "Law and Order," "Murphy's Law (humour) Murphy's Law - (Or "Sod's Law") The correct, *original* Murphy's Law reads: "If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it. " and BBC America BBC America is an American television network, owned and operated by BBC Worldwide, which was launched on March 29, 1998, available on both cable and satellite. It is one of two BBC branded channels broadcast in the United States, the other being global news channel, BBC World.  shows. He has gotten me addicted. I usually use the Internet at work, but not more than an hour or two for personal use at home. It's so easy to connect to people on the Internet, but I find myself missing the sound of their voice and the personal contact that you get with other forms of communication.

Probably more time on the Web, just because I'm in the publishing industry and I like to keep up with trends. Also, I manage quite a bit of my life on the Web, whether I'm paying my bills, looking for an apartment in L.A. or buying a new cover for my barbecue--which I did last night.
