Web footing. (IRS News).

More people logged onto tax information websites--the IRS site in particular--this tax season than ever before.

More than 22 million taxpayers--about 17 percent of the active online community--turned to web-sites to download forms, gather information and file their taxes, according to a survey by Nielsen/NetRatings.

The IRS site garnered the biggest audience--more than 10.1 million visitors--followed by TurboTax (6.8 million).

HRBlock.com was the only site that saw a decline in visitors with roughly 2.9 million visitors, down 9 percent from 2001-02.
