Weather.com Provides Excite@Home's Users With Online Weather Information.

weather.com, a leading source of weather on the Web and the official site of The Weather Channel(R), today announced that it will provide weather content to Excite@Home (Nasdaq: ATHM ATHM Excite@Home (NASDAQ symbol)

weather.com will deliver to Excite@Home current conditions, forecasts and severe weather alerts for 35,000 locations worldwide. Excite@Home will provide users with links to weather.com for additional weather-related content such as skiing, health and travel. The service extends to both Excite.com, as well as Excite@Home's high-speed broadband Internet See broadband.  service.

weather.com will also provide Excite@Home with video and audio content, local and regional Doppler radar A system for measuring speed that is based on the Doppler effect. It is used in police radar systems as well as for measuring the velocity of hurricanes and tornadoes. See Doppler effect.  maps and international satellite images. Additionally, weather.com will provide weather content for Excite's wireless portal A Web site that supports a user with a smartphone or alphanumeric pager. It may offer a variety of features, including providing a springboard to other (WAP based) wireless sites, the ability to select content to be pushed to the user's device as well as providing a point of entry for , www.mobile.excite.com.
