Motives for immigration, like those for migration generally, are often economic, although religious or political factors may be very important. . If these people came here the right way, through the front door, I'd welcome all of them, and we would still be a melting pot melting pot

But the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  is to blame, too. This situation didn't just pop out of nowhere, we let this happen, and now it's a problem.

The United States isn't as well-to-do as Clarke seems to think it is. We are in trouble over here, and it's getting worse daily.
