NCL1900 bridge/router delivers high-speed 900 MHz wireless connections; solves line-of-sight problems for enterprise applications

WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB: WAVC), a leading global provider of fixed wireless Internet access products, today launched the NCL1900, the newest addition to the company's NCL family. The NCL1900 is the first wireless bridge/router available that provides non-line-of-sight (NLOS) connections for LAN applications and small network deployments via the license-exempt 900 MHz spectrum.

The NCL1900 enables high-speed non-line-of-sight point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links for LAN-to-LAN and LAN-to-Internet applications. The NCL1900 is designed for backhaul, enterprise and campus networks, extension of existing wireless networks, providing broadband access to very small communities or neighborhood pockets, and leased line back-up or replacement. The NCL1900 is also fully compatible with WaveRider's Last Mile Solution(R) family of wireless broadband products.

The NCL1900 is designed to be deployed as a base station that connects subscribers via WaveRider's EUM3003 wireless modems. The EUM3003 operates with an indoor antenna that can be easily installed at subscriber sites. The NCL1900 supports up to 20 subscriber sites and has a NLOS range of 2 miles using an indoor antenna and up to 8 miles using an external subscriber antenna for a line-of-sight connection. The NCL1900 delivers an over-the-air data rate of 2.75 Mbps, with access speeds up to 2 Mbps.
