Proceeds from the T-shirt sales go to the nonprofit Operation U.S.A., which, like Von Dutch, is based in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

The Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Wireless Users Group is coordinating shipments of equipment to tsunami-affected areas, including Unawatuna, Sri Lanka Sri Lanka (srē läng`kə) [Sinhalese,=resplendent land], formerly Ceylon, ancient Taprobane, officially Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, island republic (2005 est. pop.  and Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The first shipment is due out at the end of January.

"By sending equipment, we can reconnect parts of the area that may not have been connected," said Mike Outmesguine, the group's chairman. "Wireless is one of the best ways to re-establish connections, which is essential in the long term."
