Trusted PCs shipped by the computer industry are embedded with TPM chips specified by TCG industry standards. Wave's client and server solutions work with TPM chips embedded in Trusted PCs. TPMs serve as a platform for secure services and applications. This solution enables strong authentication on any PC that includes a TPM and Wave software.

"Trusted Computing is set to become the major IT issue for companies and governments as computer systems become increasingly complex and vulnerable. ST's secure technology, combined with advanced software from proven partners, such as Wave Systems, provides a complete system-on-chip solution around which trusted systems can be built," said Alain Jarre of the Smartcard ICs Division, STMicroelectronics.

"Wave is delighted to be a partner with STMicroelectronics in delivering a comprehensive hardware and software solution for the trusted computing market," said Brian Berger, executive vice president, marketing and sales, Wave Systems. "We believe this is another important demonstration of the deep capabilities Wave offers in addressing client and server needs with solutions that are available today, with the current infrastructure in organizations."

"This solution can enable today's most popular enterprise applications to take advantage of trusted computing," said Steven Sprague, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. The license also includes the TCG enabled Wave Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP), which is designed to support any application requiring cryptographic services taking full advantage of the TPM. It is compliant with Microsoft's crypto-API specification.

The ST solution including Wave's software is planned to be demonstrated this week at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), Moscone South Convention Center, San Francisco, CA.
