Watchfire Announces Support for Mercury BTO Enterprise.

WALTHAM, Mass. & LAS VEGAS -- Watchfire Joins Mercury Technology Alliance Program and Receives Validation for Integration of AppScan(R) and WebXM(TM) with Mercury Quality Center(TM)

Today at Mercury World 2005, Watchfire, a provider of Online Risk Management software and services to monitor and report on web application security, privacy, quality, accessibility and compliance risks, announced it has joined the Mercury Technology Alliance Program. In addition, Watchfire's market-leading web application security testing solution, AppScan(R), and its enterprise platform, WebXM(TM), have been validated by Mercury for integration with Mercury TestDirector(TM), part of Mercury BTO Enterprise(TM). Mercury BTO Enterprise is the industry's first integrated suite of business technology optimization (BTO) offerings designed to help customers optimize the business outcomes of IT.

AppScan is an automated web application security-testing tool that helps QA personnel analyze applications for security defects and to resolve those defects before finding their way onto live websites. The integration of AppScan with Mercury TestDirector and Mercury Quality Center(TM) will allow users to run critical web application security tests directly from the Mercury TestDirector environment.

The integration will enable customers to automate test creation and modify maintenance processes required to test and remediate critical application security defects, produce detailed security defect advisories and manage all tests (e.g., functional, load, and security) from a single console while storing the results in Mercury Quality Center server. This integration will provide administration, centralized control and faster deployment critical to easing the manual burden, thereby reducing the cost of fixing security-related defects and helping QA teams to integrate security as a key component of their normal testing process.

Watchfire has also integrated the current version of its enterprise platform, WebXM, with Mercury TestDirector. WebXM automates the scanning, analysis and reporting of online security, privacy, quality, accessibility and compliance issues across enterprise web properties. This integration will allow users to incorporate enterprise content testing into their application testing  processes to analyze all pre-and post-deployment content for critical compliance issues.

Watchfire will conduct two product demonstrations highlighting the integrations of WebXM and AppScan with Mercury TestDirector at Mercury World in Las Vegas this week at Booth #410. The AppScan demonstration will highlight how users can easily create security tests for their web application test plans and execute them as part of their normal QA process. The WebXM demonstration will show how users can select and submit issues from WebXM reports directly into Mercury TestDirector where they can be assigned for tracking and resolution, thus managing and improving the quality of both enterprise web content and applications.
