With fare ranging from family angst to Dr. Frank-N-Furter, this year's crop of holiday video releases offers something to keep everyone's VCR heads spinning well into 1999. * The brilliance of late gay dramatist Scott McPherson is on display in Marvin's Room (Buena Vista, $19.99). Adapted by McPherson from his acclaimed play, the film stars Diane Keaton (in an Oscar-nominated performance) and Meryl Streep as estranged sisters dealing with life-threatening illness and other family crises. Costarring are Robert De Niro and the unsinkable Leonardo DiCaprio. * Action-oriented pics include Set It Off (New Line, $14.98), with Queen Latifah as a bodaciously butch lesbian bank robber. Wild Things (Columbia TriStar, digital video disc, $29.99) is part noirish crime drama, part sexual smorgasbord, including the coupling of Neve Campbell and Denise Richards. * Now that an expanded edition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Fox, $14.98; wide-screen version, $19.98) is available on video--at least for a limited time--there's no need to go to a midnight screening for a visit with that sweet transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania. * There's also no need to see the feature-film version of Lost in Space, thanks to the video release of the fourth set of three episodes of the '60s TV series (Fox, $14.98 each; set of three, $24.98), highlighted by Jonathan Harris as the fabulously fey Dr. Zachary Smith. * Also from television comes My So Called Life (BMG, two episodes per tape, $14.98; boxed set of three tapes, $39.98), the short-lived but highly regarded series that featured openly gay actor Wilson Cruz as gay teen Rickie Vasquez. And from behind the scenes of TV we have The Real World You Never Saw: Boston and Seattle (MTV Home Video/ Sony Music Entertainment, $12.98), an insider's peek at the casts from the show's past two seasons; the Boston group included Genesis, a lesbian who struggled with coming out to her housemates.
