Washington products hit it big on 21st stop of The Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 in 50 Tour; Euro Lens Bath Eyeglass Cleaning System named Best of Show.


BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1995--America's consumers got a first-time view of a wide array of products from Washington this week and bought them in great quantities. Showcased on QVC QVC Quality Value Convenience

 America's Best -- QVC's 50 in 50 Tour -- a year-long series of weekly primetime specials that will be broadcast from each of the nation's 50 states -- Washington-based products were offered for sale and many of them completely sold out.

Originating from the North Bellevue Community Senior Center, the show featured a special guest appearance by Mike Fitzgerald Mike Fitzgerald may refer to:

Throughout the tour, each state will be linked through similar gift-giving ceremonies. Each gift will be carried to the next state by a program host aboard the QVC LOCAL, a customized 45-foot motor craft containing the world's most sophisticated mobile TV studio.

 Cleaning System which sold out of all 6,691 available units in approximately nine minutes. The Euro Lens Bath Eyeglass Cleaning System, a 60-second lens cleaning system, was created by Northwest Optical Specialties from Bothell.

The Native American Papoose Doll in Cradle, hand-crafted by Forbears Trading Company Inc. from Fox Island, which sold out of all 103 available units during the preview, was named the show's "First Runner Up." The Gourmet Fudge Mixes sold 2,345 units in five and one-half minutes and was named "Second Runner Up." The Gourmet Fudge Mixes were created by Bumbercrop Inc. from Dayton.

The selections were based on total sales revenue and long-term electronic retail sales potential. QVC issued reorders for the program's three top products, which will all be featured in upcoming regular QVC programming.

The 20 products offered for sale were selected from more than 300 entries displayed at the trade show held at the St. Martin's St. Martin's or St. Martins may refer to:

"We are very pleased by the viewer response to our Washington broadcast," said Doug Briggs, president of QVC Inc. "It was very difficult to choose the top winners."

Throughout the year, QVC will choose 20 products from each state -- 1,000 products in all. Each broadcast will award "Best of Show," "First Runner-Up" and "Second Runner-Up" honors.
