Today, the Medical Quality Assurance Commission summarily suspended sus·pend

 Dr. Leslie A. Sziebert (MD00026291) and charged him with unprofessional conduct for alleged sexual relationships with two patients.

A summary suspension summary suspension Hospital practice The immediate termination of a physician's medical staff membership over concerns for the safety of Pts, employees, or any other persons in the hospital. Sziebert has the right to appeal the summary suspension by requesting a "prompt hearing." He has 20 days to respond to the unprofessional conduct charges. If he and the commission do not reach a disciplinary agreement, the case will go to a hearing.

The Medical Commission sets medical policy and standards of practice, licenses and regulates physicians and physician assistants, and works with the state's physicians to improve the quality of medical care in Washington.
