Washington Group Subsidiary Rust Constructors Wins Contract to Manage Construction of $1.2 Billion Hyundai Plant in Alabama.

:WGII WGII Washington Group International Inc (stock symbol) ) announced today that its subsidiary, Rust Constructors Inc., has been selected by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (commonly called HMMA) is an automobile factory in Montgomery, Alabama. It is owned and operated by Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. As construction manager, Birmingham, Alabama-based Rust Constructors' responsibilities will include oversight of the project schedule, budget, and safety program and management of construction and specialty subcontractors.

HMMA will produce 300,000 automobiles per year at the plant. Construction will start immediately. The plant is expected to produce its first automobiles and sport utility vehicles This page lists sports utility vehicles currently in production (as of April 2007), as well as past models. Hanks said Rust Constructors will assist HMMA in hiring local contractors and subcontractors.
