Warp speed for big twin-screw.

The first two giant ZSK-NT tandem (Tandem Computers Inc., Cupertino, CA) A former major manufacturer of fault-tolerant computers founded in 1974 by James Treybig and provider of the early 21st century technology for HP's enterprise computing strategy.  twin-screw compounders from Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer (U.S. office in Ramsey, N.J.) are being built now for delivery to a Saudi Arabian PE resin resin, any of a class of amorphous solids or semisolids. Resins are found in nature and are chiefly of vegetable origin. They are typically light yellow to dark brown in color; tasteless; odorless or faintly aromatic; translucent or transparent; brittle, fracturing  plant. When they start up, the first stage (250 mm screw screw, simple machine consisting essentially of a solid cylinder, usually of metal, around which an inclined plane winds spirally, either clockwise or counterclockwise.  diam.) is expected to run roughly twice as fast as any previous twin-screw machine of that size--up to 600 rpm.

This huge tandem compounder was developed for output of up to 110,000 lb/hr of bimodal bi·mod·al

The first, high-speed stage melts rapidly, followed by a very slow (100-rpm) second stage (350 mm diam.) for gently homogenizing the difficult material, using less energy and destroying more gels, Coperion says.
