WarnerActive announces agreement to publish new CD-ROM titles from BlueSky, developers of "Jurassic Park" and "VectorMan".


BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 1995--WarnerActive, the multimedia publishing division of Warner Music Group Warner Music Group (WMG) is one of the four major record labels.

Warner Music Group also has a publishing arm, Warner/Chappell Music, which dates back to 1929, when Jack Warner, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Inc.

As part of its publishing agreement, WarnerActive will offer comprehensive marketing and promotional support for the titles, as well as technical support for consumers purchasing the products.

BlueSky will make use of new technologies and significantly enhanced computer graphics to create titles that are geared toward serious video game players. The first two titles are currently planned for mid-1996 release.

"WarnerActive is focusing on publishing games for gamers and our agreement with BlueSky directly supports those efforts," said Robert Marick, vice president of marketing for WarnerActive. "BlueSky's reputation for combining superb graphics and realistic gameplay into their action-adventure titles is appealing to our target market -- gamers -- and we plan to significantly build upon that reputation."

Stuart Kosoy, senior director of product development for WarnerActive, said BlueSky's reputation was key to finalizing this agreement. "We were attracted to BlueSky for many reasons but mostly by their successful track record in developing hit gaming titles that gamers love. We feel BlueSky is one of the best developers around, and we look forward to continued success under our new agreement."
