Warming feet and hearts. (Civics).


When Brittany Brittany (brĭt`ənē), Breton Breiz, Fr. Bretagne, region and former province, NW France.  slippers. Then she noticed that other kids in the hospital had the same problem. She wanted to bring them slippers, too.

A seventh-grader at Scottsdale Christian Academy Scottsdale Christian Academy is a state-approved private school located in Phoenix, Arizona. The education levels range from preschool to 12th grade. Scottsdale Christian Academy is a non-denominational Christian school (non-parochial), and is accredited by the North Central  in Scottsdale, Arizona Scottsdale (O'odham Vaṣai S-vaṣonĭ) is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, adjacent to Phoenix. Scottsdale has become internationally recognized as a premier and posh tourist destination, while maintaining its own identity and culture as " , Brittany wrote letters to slipper manufacturers asking for donations. The companies sent 2,000 pairs of slippers, which she stored in her garage. "We got fuzzy ones, dogs, bears, gorillas, bunnies--all sorts of slippers," she says.

Brittany and her family delivered the slippers to hospitals, homeless shelters Homeless shelters are temporary residences for homeless people. Usually located in urban neighborhoods, they are similar to emergency shelters. The primary difference is that homeless shelters are usually open to anyone, without regard to the reason for need. , children's shelters, and other places where kids are in need. Brittany hopes that her organization, the Fuzzy Feet Foundation, will be able to distribute 5,000 pairs of slippers this year.

"When I talk to the kids, it's just great to see their smiles," she says. "Slippers are great because they warm you up inside."
