Walters Group doing so much to help community groups.


"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." Helen Keller's words were the inspiration behind the Third Annual Food Drive sponsored by the Walters Group based in Barnegat, NJ.

During the week-long fundraiser, the staff raised nearly $6,500 and gathered 624 pounds of food to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

The event was highlighted by a "very successful rain-or-shine parking lot sale," stated Candyce C. The proceeds from the yard sale, held on July 22 in the parking lot of the Walters Group corporate office, amounted to $1,475.

The FoodBank supplies more than 260 emergency feeding facilities in the area. Every dollar donated do·nate

"We're a strong supporter of a number of local causes," said Ed Walters, Jr., founder of the Walters Group. ,The FoodBank depends heavily on donations, and even a small contribution can make a real difference. Next summer we hope to raise even more funds."
