Walt Spevak Named Tamalpais Bank Board Director.SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- Walt Spevak of Mill Valley Mill Valley, city (1990 pop. 13,038), Marin co., W Calif., a suburb on Richardson Bay, an inlet of San Francisco Bay; inc. 1900. It is a residential community set in heavily timbered hills and valleys; redwood trees predominate. Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and an artists' colony are there. Mt. Tamalpais State Park is adjacent to the city, and Muir Woods National Monument (see National Parks and Monuments, table) is nearby., California has been elected to the Board of Directors of Tamalpais Bank, a subsidiary of newly named Epic Bancorp (formerly San Rafael Bancorp). According to Mark Garwood, President and Co-CEO of Tamalpais Bank and a Director of the Bank Board, "Spevak has an impressive business background and has played a highly active role in service to our community. His management and leadership capabilities are indeed attractive to our rapidly expanding organization and we are pleased to have him join us as a member of the Board." Spevak served as a former senior director of corporate real estate and facilities, community relations and corporate travel for Autodesk, Inc. for 13 years. Prior to that he was their Director of Product Marketing and before that the Director of Product Management at Autodesk. He is currently a board member and chair of the Outreach Committee for the Friends of Marin Center. He is also a board member of the Marin Center Renaissance Partnership, Marin County School to Career Partnership, Stanford Club of Marin, Mill Valley Library Foundation, as well as a member of Marin Forum, the Marin Employers Group and on the Advisory Council of the North Bay Children's Center. He is a past board member of Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation's Kiddo! Spevak received his MBA and undergraduate degrees from Stanford University. |
