Walt Disney Internet Group And CSL Announce Wireless Content Distribution Agreement; Disney Mobile Content to be Distributed in Hong Kong.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. & HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2001

Walt Disney Internet Group The Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG) oversees several websites owned by The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries. [1] The division's Disney Online unit operates disney.  and Hong Kong CSL Limited have entered into a cooperative relationship to distribute Disney wireless content under the Disney Mobile brand over CSL's wireless network in Hong Kong.

It was announced today by Mark Handler, executive vice president and managing director, International, Walt Disney Internet Group.

"The mobile Internet represents a rapidly emerging distribution medium for Disney's content," said Handler. "We are pleased to be entering the wireless market in Hong Kong with a high-quality operator like CSL (Computerese as a Second Language) Said of people who love to speak high-tech words even though they often use them erroneously. Hubert Ng, chief executive officer of CSL, said, "We are excited to offer personalized content with the world-famous Disney characters for our customers. We believe that the introduction of Disney's characters will further stimulate customers' usage of mobile data services."

Available this Fall, the Disney Mobile service on CSL will include downloadable content based on Disney's lineup of popular characters. Subscribers of CSL will be able to access the content either via short messaging service (SMS) downloads or wireless application protocol (WAP) service.
