Walt Disney Classics Collection enthusiasts have called for the creation of holiday-oriented merchandise since the collection's sensational debut on the collectibles scene in 1992. "Presents for my Pals" is the inaugural issue of an annual series that will capture -- in an animation art sculpture and matching ornament -- a classic Disney holiday film moment. The first three sculptures in The Holiday Series will be from Pluto's Christmas Tree, so interested collectors won't want to miss the inaugural piece.

The Mickey Mouse depicted in "Presents for my Pals" differs from the Mickey seen today as it represents Disney's animation style of the 1950s, when Mickey was drawn with a slightly larger nose and head, shorter legs, and casual clothes. The sculpture has also been "plussed" with a tail made of metal to give Mickey a more lively, animated appearance.

Featuring a broad array of animation art sculptures ranging in price from $55 to $800, the Walt Disney Classics Collection is available at fine gift and collectible stores, including selected Disney Store and Disney Theme Park locations. Authorized au·thor·ize
