CORVALLIS - Oregon State rewarded baseball coach Pat Casey with a new contract on Monday that will keep Newberg native in the Beaver dugout through the 2010 season.

Casey, whose record at OSU is 341-247-4, was the 2005 Pac-10 Coach of the Year and the American Baseball Coaches Association's West Region Coach of the Year. The Beavers won the Pac-10 title, were ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation and went to the College World Series.

His contract calls for an annual base salary of $100,000 that will increase to $121,560 by contract's end. He can also earn $250,000 in bonuses for fulfilling the full five years, plus additional incentives for academic progress, postseason appearances and coaching honors.
