Fifty-two essays by 12 authors take readers into the world of some of the 15-30 million insect species (and a few arachnids, too). Originally written for The New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of Times science section, these essays are occasionally illustrated with b/w sketches, but the writing is so clear and vivid, pictures are unnecessary. Chapter 1, "Maestros of Earth and Air," takes us among dung beetles, monarch butterflies, ants, bees, cicadas, and roaches. Chapter 2 shows the violent world of attack and defense. "Rituals of Insect Courtship" is the subject of Chapter 3, no less violent in some cases than Chapter 2, Chapter 4 is about "Living Arrangements" and Chapter 5 about "The Principles of Design Insect." "The Unwelcome Side of Insects," Chapter 6, frightens with its fire ants, mites, bug infestations, and the overuse overuse Health care The common use of a particular intervention even when the benefits of the intervention don't justify the potential harm or cost–eg, prescribing antibiotics for a probable viral URI. There's plenty of science here, but in an accessible narrative form that will fascinate readers. And where would we be without insects?
