WTC Memorial Foundation board of directors appointed.


Governor George E. Pataki, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and John C. Whitehead John Cunningham Whitehead (b. April 2 1922), is currently the chairman of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation (WTC Memorial Foundation), and former chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation until he resigned in May of 2006.  announced the selection of the Board of Directors for the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, Inc.

The Foundation is a 501(c3) private not-for-profit corporation A not-for-profit corporation is a corporation created by statute, government or judicial authority that is not intended to provide a profit to the owners or members. A corporation that is organized to provide profits to its owners or members is a for-profit corporation.  that will construct, own, operate, and maintain the World Trade Center Memorial, an on-site museum and a performing arts buildings.

This Board of Directors includes business leaders, victims' family members, and leading philanthropists. Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush Noun 1. George H.W. Bush - vice president under Reagan and 41st President of the United States (born in 1924)

, and William J. Clinton will serve as Honorary Members and have all pledged their support for the Foundation.

John Whitehead John Whitehead may refer to:

 will serve as Founding Chairman on an interim basis until such a time as a permanent chair is selected by the Board. Governor Pataki, Mayor Bloomberg, and former Mayor Rudolph W. Guiliani will serve as Honorary Trustees.

The Foundation's primary responsibility will be to raise funds for and coordinate the planning and construction of, the Memorial at the World Trade Center site.
