 WRITER/PRODUCER THAD MUMFORD SIGNS DEVELOPMENT DEAL
 HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Writer/producer Thad


Mumford has been signed to develop and produce series and telefilms for the Network Television Division of Paramount Pictures, it was announced by John S. Pike, president of the division.
 Under his agreement, Mumford will create comedy and drama series and telefilms for the four networks. He most recently served as a creative consultant on "Coach," under a development and production deal with Universal Television. Previously, Mumford served as co-executive producer on "A Different World" and was supervising producer/writer on "Alf."
 In the early '80s, Mumford was a writer/producer on "MASH" (for which he received a WGA Award) and he wrote the telefilm "Roots: The Second Generation," for which he received a WGA Award nomination.
 Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Mumford attended Fordham University.
