Saint Don Bosco, born Giovanni Melchiorre Bosco, and known in English as John Bosco
 of Bellflower traveled to the Valley and beat 15 other teams to win the 12th annual Sam de John Wrestling Tournament at San Fernando High School San Fernando High School, located in San Fernando, California, is a secondary school that is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The school colors are black and gold. All girl teams are referred to as Lady Tigers, all boy teams simply as Tigers.

Three of Bosco's first-place wins came over returning CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing. CIF formats are defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. The original CIF is also known as Full CIF (FCIF).  City Section champion SanFernando in the 103, 145 and Heavyweight divisions. In a rematch from the Tournament of Champions last month, Jeremy Gendreau again beat San Fernando's Benito Mendez (27-6) in the finals of the 103-pound class, while Mark Biley beat Rashaad Reynolds, and Luciano Sanchez downed Lorenzo Chapman by a 7-1 score in the 275 division to lead the Braves to the tournament win.

``We're where we need to be,'' San Fernando coach Fernando Gonzalez said. ``(St.John's Gendreau) is a possible state qualifier, Reynolds is just getting back from football and Lorenzo is a little undersized undersized

One of San Fernando's twofirst-place medals came over St. John Bosco when Mike Le avenged a previous blowout loss to Victor Angel and beat him 9-0 in the 119-pound division. Matt Castillo also earned a first-place medal for SanFernando with a 7-1 decision over Simi Valley's Jonathan Hamm in the 189class. The Pioneers and St.John Bosco also battled it out in the 215- and 160-pound classes, with Simi Valley's Matt Bruno defeating Kevin Mespla 6-0 in 160 and Robert Ortiz of Bosco defeating Shawn Munson at 215.

Mission League rivals Alemany and Crespi met in the finals in the 171 weight class where freshman Anthony Espinosa beat Devin Ricketson 3-0 for the win. Espinosa, one of 11 first-year wrestlers on Alemany's team, placed seventh in the 64-team Santiago Shark Invitational last year and third at the Gold Coast Classic at Camarillo.

Royal finished first in twoweights with Kevin Dunn beating St. John Bosco's Joe Roudebush at 125 with a fall in 43 seconds and Sam Mestaz taking down California's Jonathan Toro Toro may refer to:
