WPI's Metal Processing Institute Receives Gift.


Worcester Polytechnic Institute Worcester Polytechnic Institute - (WPI) A well-regarded, small engineering college.

Address: Worcester, MA, USA.
 (WPI WPI - Worcester Polytechnic Institute ), Worcester, Massachusetts, recently received a gift of $1 million for its Metal Processing Institute (MPI MPI - Message Passing Interface ) from benefactor Ray H. Witt. The gift will establish the Ray H. Witt Endowment Fund to support metalcasting activities at WPI. WPI's Aluminum Casting Research Laboratory now will be called the ACRL--Ray H. Witt Metalcasting Center.

Witt is chairman of CMI (Computer-Managed Instruction) Using computers to organize and manage an instructional program for students. It helps create test materials, tracks the results and monitors student progress.  Management Services, Inc., Southfield, Michigan and past president of AFS ('92-'93), the Ductile Iron Society, the Foundry Educational Foundation and the Iron Casting Society.
