Byline: Greg GREG Great Egg Harbor National Scenic and Recreational River (US National Park Service)  Botonis Staff Writer

LANCASTER - A Lancaster man who was shot in the stomach during an argument in front of a friend's house was upgraded Tuesday from critical to fair condition, officials said.

The 34-year-old man, whose name sheriff's officials said they were not disclosing in order to protect his safety, was initially not expected to survive.

``As of 9:30 this morning, the victim was upgraded to fair condition,'' said Deputy Dan Burdick of the Lancaster sheriff's station. ``They believe he'll survive.''

The shooting occurred about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of West Avenue H-14 as the victim and a 34-year-old Palmdale man were standing in front of a mutual friend's home.

The two men began arguing over an uncertain subject when the Palmdale man drew a gun and fired a single shot at the Lancaster man. The shooter then fled.

When deputies and rescue crews arrived, they found the Lancaster man lying on a cement cement, binding material used in construction and engineering, often called hydraulic cement, typically made by heating a mixture of limestone and clay until it almost fuses and then grinding it to a fine powder.  walkway walkway Rehabilitation medicine An instrument used to measure the timing of foot contact and or position of the foot on the ground  unconscious unconscious, in psychology, that aspect of mental life that is separate from immediate consciousness and is not subject to recall at will.
