WORLD TODAY: Hain faces fund storm.

WORK and Pensions Secretary Peter Hain will be forced to admit that he failed to declare tens of thousands of pounds in donations to his Labour deputy leadership campaign, it was reported today.

According to a national newspaper, the scale of the under-reporting is such that some political sources believe his political future could be at stake unless he can show it was down to the chaos within his campaign team and there was no deliberate attempt to conceal the payments.

While Mr Hain has declared pounds 82,000, the paper said the true total received was likely to be "well in excess" of pounds 100,000. Mr Hain said there had been "administrative failings within my campaign".
