 WORKERS COMPENSATION/CASUALTY SERVICES SIGNS
 CONTRACTS WITH THREE NEW CLIENTS
 MINNEAPOLIS, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Workers Compensation/Casualty Services (WC/CS) has signed three new clients. WC/CS, a member of the United HealthCare Corporation (UHC) (NYSE: UNH) family of services, offers utilization management, provider networks, disability management and other managed care services to employers and insurers nationwide.
 New clients are:
 -- Health Direct, a Connecticut-based provider network for self- insured companies and insurance firms. WC/CS will perform retrospective and concurrent inpatient utilization review and review of ambulatory services such as chiropractic care, diagnostic imaging and back treatment.
 -- Georgia Pacific, a diversified forest products company. WC/CS will conduct inpatient and outpatient review of medical, surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
 -- Providence and Washington Group, a major workers compensation insurance carrier in Rhode Island. WC/CS will perform inpatient and outpatient utilization review and offer access to a provider network.
 The network, which includes physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, outpatient surgery centers and other health care providers, was established by UHC's Ocean State Physicians Health Plan, Warwick, R.I. The Ocean State network includes more than 2,200 providers, 20 hospitals and 115 pharmacies, serving nearly 140,000 members in Rhode Island and Southeastern Connecticut.
 UHC began workers compensation utilization review in 1985. Since then, the company has reviewed more than 25,000 cases nationwide. Individual clients report saving as much as $2.5 million per year in workers compensation costs since implementing UHC utilization review services.
